mysql PID error mac os?

MySQL

Installed mysql from the official site. I'm trying to start /usr/local/mysql/support-files/mysql.server start and then trying to start and then giving an error ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file (/usr/local/mysql/data/MacBook-Air-local.pid).
Surfed all over the internet. Nothing helped (neither setting user rights, nor deleting logs, nor the kill command, nothing). Does anyone know what the error is?
