MySQL + Mac, server won't start?

Leopard 10.6.6, downloaded the muscle server from here . I put it, I climb into the system settings, I try to start - it does not work. It only asks for a password and nothing happens. Reloaded.
Piece of iron - mbp 374.

Install MAMP and don't bother.

To install MySQL, there is a convenient script that can be run with one command bash <(curl -Ls http://git.io/eUx7rg). Only first you need to remove the already installed version: instructions .
Script on Github , source .

The same situation. Run manually through the terminal.

If you go to the Console (Applications -> Utilities), you can see that this thing is looking for and not finding some file (I don’t remember, I rearranged the last time a long time ago). Driving an error from the Console into Google finds a solution to the problem, you need to correct the path in the config, which the maintainers indicated incorrectly.

I advise:
1. Install Windows instead of macos. 2. Install MSSQL instead of mysql. 3. Use MS SQL Server Management Studio instead of phpmyadmin.
My comment may seem out of place and generally holivar-trolling, but there is one trick.
Well, how could it happen that the mysql distribution kit marked for macos does not get up in default conditions? How? They didn't check it out? Gee.
What haven't they checked yet? From what is not immediately visible? Mmm?
And after that, how can they be trusted to store even junk data?
Start to value your time.

Faced the same problem. I did not find the solution right away, but here it is. As already mentioned above, the whole point is that the path is incorrectly registered in the config, and plus there is a problem with access rights.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
