I use the reference material https://dev.1c-bitrix.ru/learning/course/index.php... to create several sites on the same platform. I watched several videos on this topic. But I ran into the question, where is the local folder? Or is it no longer relevant?
There is the latest version of Bitrix "Business" and a ready-made solution Aspro.Next.

the locale folder is created by hand. everything custom is put there - templates, modules, components.

On the contrary, the local folder is relevant, finally there will be no mess. I even put the inclusions in there.

The out-of-the-box solutions do not use the local folder. In any case, I only know of one.
Specifically, in Asprov's solutions, it is not used exactly. There everything is the old fashioned way, in the kernel folder.

Put the folder where bitrix and upload are. And symlinks to neighboring sites.
