Multiple registrations per extension?

Specialists, but what is really such a basic need as registration of several devices to one internal number is impossible in freepbx / asterisk ?? and is realized only through some kind of crutches in the form of groups ......
I'm surprised of course

The old chan_sip has a limitation, since it is implemented according to the principle - 1 registration is 1 device.
pjsip allows you to configure multiple devices by specifying their number in the max_contacts parameter of aor

I’ll answer again, suddenly it’s useful to someone, my scheme of work involves the use of sip accounts on smartphones, which is fraught with frequent (conditionally) re-registration of accounts on the server, let’s say a person was sitting on wifi, then went outside and fell into 3g / 4g and vice versa, By default, accounts have a session lifetime, and such jumping leads to the fact that he disconnected from the account while sitting on wifi, but the session on the server hangs (by default, the session lifetime is 7200 seconds) and therefore it will not be possible to connect until the lifetime expires session!
I solved it in the following way, for the account - advanced
"Maximum number of Contacts" - 3
"Maximum expiration" 5 (this is in seconds)
"Minimum expiration" 5
this helped to solve the problem with frequent re-registration of accounts on the server
