Multiple monitors on iMac - how to implement?

Friends, we need help.
My friend has a 2010 iMac with ATI graphics. There is a desire to connect two more monitors to it in order to display several charts in order to trade on the stock exchange. There is also Air, with which you need to do the same manipulation.
What is white done:
First, we bought a Samsung monitor with Display Port. Connected. All right. But now you need to connect more and there are not enough ports for this. Plus, a friend often travels to the place where he rides, he takes an iMac. Of course, he won't, but he will take Air with him. In order not to carry the monitor with them, they also bought a monitor at the place of stay.
So here's what you want to do:
1. Buy an external video card for 2-4 monitors. Matrox
has such options.and a more budgetary counterpart from HP, and there is a very modest StLab U-600 adapter , which was mentioned in an article on Habré .
2. Carry Air and this external video card with you when you travel. Keep monitors where they are.
3. Connect at home to 3-4 additional monitors with iMac, and on trips, in fact, with Air.
Any ideas how this would be the best way to implement it?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
