MS SQL Server 2017, what to install?

I decided to install MS SQL Server and start studying databases, only now I've been sitting for the third day and I can't install this SQL Server in any way. Somewhere it is written that Visual Studio is needed, in YouTube videos they just show the installation of SQL Server, but do not show what additional components are needed in order to actually launch this environment and start developing something in it. Why can't you install everything you need with one file ... (not the point).

Download MS SQL Server Express Edition in one file and install as 100% of the world's population does it.
To work with the server, download MS SQL Management Studio and install.
If there are errors, then they are usually indicated in the body of the question so that the rest would not have to guess.
