Motion design or 3D graphics?

Hello. I am studying to be a graphic designer, I want to choose a more specific direction.
Interested in:
animation
drawing 2D and 3D
modeling
game graphics
vfx

It is not very clear where it is better to go, motion or 3D game graphics, how close these areas are, where the entry threshold is lower. Again, game graphics are also divided into modeling and animation. What are the pitfalls here and there? Where is the best place to work? Where to begin?

And another question, is it really possible to first study a certain common set of knowledge for both areas (in order to take some part-time jobs), and then make a choice? Or is it necessary to choose immediately in advance, in case of an erroneous choice, knowledge in the other of these two areas will not be useful and time will be wasted?

In fact, it all depends on what is closer and more interesting to you. If you are interested in both 2d and 3d, then study after effects. This is the easiest way to get into motion design and compositing. The next is 3D graphics, modeling and animation. This is where Cinema 4d comes in handy. Now the boundaries of what is called motion and 3D graphics have blurred, in the profession of a motion designer you need to know both directions, and there is always room to grow. Of the more complex packages, it is better to choose Maya, because it is more relevant and not as clumsy as 3ds Max, which is more suitable for rendering interiors. Maybe this is a matter of taste, but Maya seemed to me easier and more convenient. And then comes Houdini. As you can see, you can really develop here if you start with the after and shape animation, and then move towards three dee (already earning). You will also need knowledge of video editing, illustrator and Photoshop. As for the after, videosmile has good courses in super motion, super after effects 2. There is also a course from Motion beast called Study Motion graphic in advanced. It is more advanced and in English. And there you can move further towards the gaming industry, if you are specifically interested in this, then Maya, Blender and Zbrush are better. Well, Unity engines, unreal. It is not necessary to get hung up on one thing (but it’s better, of course, to pump one skill well, and then take on another), you will need everything in any knowledge And there you can move further towards the gaming industry, if you are specifically interested in this, then Maya, Blender and Zbrush are better. It would be best to learn the package Autodesk 3D max, Maya. Then it will be possible to do animation modeling or architectural visualization, which seems to be in great demand. For vfx, it is better to learn Houdini, but then it will be difficult to find a job or freelance.
