Monitor does not work via HDMI under Windows, but it starts under Linux | Lenovo V580c, what's the problem?
I have a laptop Lenovo V580c | i5 3230m | GeForce 610m | UEFI
I constantly connected it to the monitor via an HDMI cable. The first six months everything was fine, then signs of dying began to appear, either the nest or the cable. I had to press harder when you insert it, or move the cable, as if the contacts were coming off. I bought another cable, tried other versions of Windows (7, 8, 10), but in the end, now the monitor does not work through this output. And everything would have been repaired, if not for one BUT! Under any Linux distribution, the monitor starts immediately! I can’t understand what the magic is, I always use the latest drivers for both Intel and Nvidia.
Monitor and cord - OK, tested on another laptop

Well, in principle, there are only two options here, either a cable or firewood for vidyuhu. It seems like there are no other options.
Faced exactly the same situation.
ThinkPad Edge E330. Bought without OS, installed Windows 7 x64 Cooperative (unlicensed, alas).
The problem appeared suddenly, just one day the TV and the monitor stopped connecting via hdmi. It is simply not detected ((At the same time, 1 TV and 3 monitors, as well as 3 hdmi cables were involved, which eliminates the possibility of malfunctions on their part.
The VGA output gives a signal without problems. Hdmi
works under Ubuntu.
Winows reinstalled (MSDN), even hdd changed - no change.HDMI does not work either before installing drivers after installing the OS, or after ((
BIOS?
