[MODx]. Evo or Revo?
What is the best place to start a project? On the one hand, Evo is more stable and requires less resources (respectively, cheaper hosting can be used). On the other hand, Revo is newer, better supported, but requires more resources. The question is, what is more convenient and reliable to make a website?

Revo of course. The fact that it needs more resources is stupidity
I've been working with MODx since version 0.9.6.3. I know both EVO and REVO very well, I wrote a bunch of sites on them. Not a single argument for me can become a basis for abandoning REVO in favor of EVO.
The answer depends on the expected complexity of the project.
If custom solutions are required that are not in the MODX components catalog, then Revo is better.
If you just need a site without frills and there are serious resource limitations, then the previous branch is more suitable.
Personally, I prefer to use only Revolution. It is more convenient for me to work with him, and I, as a developer, have more opportunities. As for reliability, it seems to me that errors are corrected much faster in Revo, and it already works quite stably.
The Evo branch is only for those who love bicycles and still dream of writing their ideal CMS. For the development of new projects, it is better to use Revo and period. Revolution version is 100 times better and more functional than Evolution.
Dmi3yy Evgeny Borisov Fathers, now your opinion has changed?
Well, laravel, blade, composer, artisan, well, how can you refuse this in favor of ready-made modules ... and the best Fenom templating engine (no)
Why use specialized modules that were written specifically for modx, if now you can use absolutely any. I went to packagist.org, found it, spooled it, wrote a facade, wrote a snippet if needed, that's all. 10 minutes)
Indeed, it all depends on the "complexity" of the site. Light "business cards" so far I'm doing the Evo.
In the future, I plan to transfer everything to Revo.
EVO is just a workhorse - you sit down and do it. And REVO is a real art, it's for people who can't sit still, who need drive, who need brainstorming to write echo 1+1; returrn true;
without brakes
