Microsoft Exchange 2016 roles can be distinguished?

I was puzzled by this question: (I know that in Exchange 2016 the roles of CAS and MAILBOX are combined) is it possible to do this: install 4 servers: 2 under CAS and 2 under MAILBOX, and on CAS simply remove the MAILBOX roles, and the remaining two with the MAILBOX role merge into DAG?

- you can, but why? licenses are superfluous or is it a security issue?

on CAS just remove the MAILBOX roles

- can't be deleted. But you can not deploy mail databases on "CAS" servers and not include these servers in the DAG.
