MBP 13 mid 2012 + additional monitor - is it worth it?

My asus n550jv, which served me faithfully for a year and a half, drowned and died. The question arose to find an alternative. Because I often carry a laptop with me, then the choice will definitely be in favor of 13 "models. I thought about the mbp 13, but after I saw the prices, I changed my mind. Then I remembered the used equipment market and found the mbp13 model of 2012. Obviously, all day working in front of such a screen size will be uncomfortable, so it is planned to connect a monitor from an old desktop 1440x900.And so the question is - will this device take out the simultaneous operation of the same idea, a browser with 20+ open tabs and other small software, for example, a couple of instant messengers?
ZY As a result, I plan to get something similar .9aab148dd4684ebe9e0e688080e19531.jpg

not worth it. for that kind of money we get maintenance-free crap with the characteristics and components of the previous generation.

I use this myself, the development pulls (memory 8 gig by itself) There are
external monitors - I don’t connect, maybe it’s more convenient to flip through the desktops than to turn my head - the bazaar!
You just get used to the working environment with which you mainly work. I often have to fail without a second monitor, I’m used to working without a second one and I don’t connect it even when there is an opportunity.

Definitely worth it: how can you work on a trinashka? Take it out, it's not going anywhere.
PS: what kind of stand do you have under the beech tree?
