MB Air and iPad mini do not communicate well with each other - what to do about it?

So it goes.
I use my iPad as a Wi-Fi router for my MacBook.
But the macbook has problems recognizing the iPad in Wi-Fi networks.
When you turn on the modem mode on the tablet, the poppy quickly finds it, but if the MB closes the lid or it stays for a long time and goes into sleep mode, or just reboot it, it no longer finds the iPad until I turn off and turn on the modem mode again on the tablet - then the poppy finds it.
There are no problems with the iPhone - it always easily finds the iPad, even after a reboot. True, the connection itself is sometimes interrupted in places, but this is probably the operator's fault.
How to fix this problem?
I'm already tired of constantly turning off and on the modem mode on the tablet

Connecting a Macbook to an iPad with a wire is the fastest option.
You can also try connecting via Bluetooth (it connects much faster, the speed is lower).
