Maps and Android GPS
I have an HTC Wildfire phone.
In a couple of days we will be driving around Russia in places where there is no connection.
As far as I understand, the GPS on the phone does not require a connection to the operator.
Tell me two things:
1. How to get information about GPS coordinates without the Internet on HTC Wildfire?
2. What is the best offline GPS program to use as a map when moving around Russia?
The plan is this - if we are not where we are - turn on the GPS, look at the coordinates on the phone, turn on the map on the laptop - enter the coordinates, look where there is.
What do you advise?

You can take Yandex.Maps and just download the cache. You can take Progorod (a month is free, then you have to pay 900 rubles) - they have offline maps, you can select the area you want to download, they are based on OpenStreetMap. True, neither one nor the other does not lay routes offline.
We drove 6500 km on Shturmann - 15 days for free. Internet is needed only for traffic jams (as far as I remember, although traffic jams could be shown by other programs - we also used Yandex.Maps and Navitel)
Because the question is relevant and can still help someone, then I will add a link to OsmAnd here . In the current version, it is already quite possible to recommend for use around the world.
