mail.com mail on iphone - sending letters

I have two mailboxes - mail.com and yahoo.com, I use them through the mail program in the iPhone.
Both boxes are free.
I receive letters, but I can’t send mail using mail.com from an iPhone - I get a message stating that “the server does not support relaying” and my letter remains hanging in outbox.
There are no problems with yahoo and letters from the mailbox are sent from the computer to mail.com.
I read about relaying, but I don’t really understand how to link it with the refusal to send letters and what to do about it.

Please give advice on how to fix the problem.

Upd: I went to the mail.com settings, I saw that forwarding and pop is positioned as an opportunity for premium mail owners.
I bought premium mail - letters are still not sent.

update2:Solution found!
Perhaps it will be useful to someone, tk. I did not find a solution to this problem on the Internet.

I decided to demolish this account in app.Mail and start again.
Upon receiving server confirmation, I saw that imap was America OnLine there - that is, AOL!
I started an account in app.Mail as AOL, only the login was @mail.com everywhere.
Everything worked, letters are sent, hurray!
Now I'll wait until the premium account ends and check if sending to a free box will work.
As for settings, mail.com lists imap.mail.com and pop.mail.com servers, no mention of AOL.
And if you follow the instructions on the site, sending letters does not work.

Perhaps something will change if you change the protocol.
