Gmail-offline chrome extension - maybe this will work. Folders only expose which to show.

You need exactly the same display, i.e. texts of chain letters

After all, the question is very relevant, especially when you have a large flow of letters and you need to track the "stages" of correspondence with different recipients. Even logged in just to ask
