Magic when printing a document?

Greetings, this is the situation: there is a local network with a shared xerox phaser 7100N MFP in it. And in principle, it prints everything well until some user prints one ominous document. If the user wants to print it in a simple Word, then he gives him "it is impossible to print the document due to incorrect printer settings" and if the user tries to print this document in pdf, then he gives him "printing is impossible because more than one page has not been selected for printing. " Now a little magic: I do the following: I transfer this document to the computer where the MFP is physically connected and print from it, it prints without problems and immediately after that all other users print the same document from their computers without problems. Explain what kind of magic is this? Thank you!

It helped to detach the MFP from the computer and connect it directly to the network, since it supports the lan interface.

I would advise you to check two things:
- everywhere there are the same (and the same version) drivers.
- if there is a printing problem, print to a virtual printer (xps or any pfd printer) and then print the result to a real one. (quick but crooked solution)
In case of another occurrence of the problem you described, try opening the document in different viewers.
PDF - adobe\foxit\chrome
doc\docx - MS Word, Open(Libre) Office.
Well, from what I remember - my accountants once got the hang of somehow getting documents in letter instead of a4. The printer accordingly sent them far and for a long time: D

It is sometimes impossible to figure out the issue of the operation of printers in local networks. Whether this is due to the operating system, or with the print service or the application from which it is printed, or with the printers themselves. But he himself met glitches like yours, and it was not treated with anything.
Just a week ago - Xerox 5655 from one user began to print Word documents in hieroglyphs. Moreover, it happened at a random time once a day, lasted for a couple of dozen pages of printing and suddenly passed.

The problem may be related to rendering the job on the server side - this is the main problem with shared printers. The server may not always draw the job correctly - this operation must be performed on the client side. The printer can be connected as a local one, specifying the port "\\host\printer", where there are additional settings: the "Draw job on the client side" checkbox.

Go through PCL5, PCL6, proprietary - play around, it should help.

I played around with the drivers on the print server, and it helped in the end. But I had HP
Tried to change print handlers, gave an ambiguous option. You can test it, maybe it will help.

Even when there were glitches with printing, I updated the firmware, reset the default settings and re-configured, eventually it worked.
That is, different options, you will understand why the hell.
