Macos - what is the modern method to get crisp fonts on an external fullhd 24 monitor?

I recently decided to switch to a macbook, but it’s more convenient to work with an external monitor, I just have 1920 * 1080 24 inches. having connected it, I realized that the image is soapy ... let's read ... and everything is complicated to eerily. already set switchresx - some variations of resolution and color profile do better, some worse, but still it doesn't show as clearly as win10 on the old laptop. There are a million topics on the Internet, all of varying degrees of complexity of implementation. somewhere there are solutions from the 13th year, offering to climb into the terminal, but it’s not clear how to roll everything back if something goes wrong and whether it works on catalina.
How to be? Of course, I thought about buying usb-c 27 2k - but now I’m also not sure that there won’t be soap, maybe less noticeable due to the higher pixel density. and to be honest, I always had enough for external fullhd, I don’t really want to spend 35+ thousand.
I was surprised, to be honest, I didn’t think that this would turn out to be such a difficult question.

The macOS interface is optimized for certain PPIs: 110 and 220.
The best option is 27” 5k
Accordingly, look for monitors whose PPI values are closest to the indicated numbers.

What year is the macbook? What port is the monitor connected to?
I myself had a problem on an old 2015 macbook and a dell 25 2k. Then the problem was solved by installing hidpi, enabling srgb, since it was not convenient to work on the native resolution, the interface was too small for Mac OS. With the purchase of a new 16 inch macbook, which initially runs catalina (the old laptop had el capital), the problem got out again and the fix with hidpi did not help. The fonts were just soap. They saw out in Catalina sub-pixel anti-aliasing of fonts in general. Sold 2k, bought 27 4k. The problem is gone.
You can try, but not the fact that it will solve the problem - one , two

LG 850UK / 850UL are great for macos in full HD, type-c is present, of course not retina with 220 ppi, but the fonts look great and the eyes do not get tired.
