Macbook pro retina 15. What causes the crunch (creak) of the case?
Hello. I recently decided to buy a macbook pro after much hesitation. I took Macbook pro retina 15 (late 2013). One of the main reasons for the purchase is the build quality, which, supposedly, there are no complaints. Before that, I heard more than once that among the advantages of this miracle of technology is the absence of squeaks and crunches when you press the case. However, as it turns out, there are. For example, a slight crunch (squeak?) is heard when the lid is closed (or simply tilted). It doesn't happen every time. Most often in those cases when it remained untouched for a long time.
Further, if you lightly press on both sides a few centimeters (3-4) from the touchpad, you can already hear quite a distinct crunch. But this is also not always, but quite often.
Sometimes a crunch in the case occurs: when you press the touchpad or the "Z" key; if you lift the device. Well, in some similar situations.
But the most terrible sound occurs if you lightly press on the bottom cover in the central area. In this case, the crunch always appears (every time you press it). Moreover, there is not only the usual crunch, but a kind of "glass" (as if a needle was knocked on the glass, for example).
All this often occurs during a direct attempt to check. But it happens that you can accidentally provoke.
So here's the crux of my question. Of course, all these squeaks are not critical, but the thought that I came across a model with an unsuccessful assembly does not leave me. Is everything that I described above generally normal for a macbook? Can a laptop that costs four times as much as any other have such unpleasant properties, given that it is less than a month old (although, as far as I remember, it crunched on the first day of purchase, but then I did not pay much attention to it)? Perhaps the big words about the build quality were slightly exaggerated, and the above is in the order of things? Should I contact the service about this, and how will they react to such statements?
Yes, and more. There are two dead pixels on the screen. They are seen very rarely, so they don't really interfere. Again, I'm interested in your opinion, is this case a warranty? (I heard somewhere that a certain amount of dead pixels is considered acceptable). Although, this is even a secondary issue. First of all, I'm interested in the problem with squeaks and crunches.

As for the crunch of the case, I confirm, a little less fatal, but near the touchpad and when the lid is closed, the crunch appears. The bottom panel in my case does not crunch.
I confirm info. I bought a macbook pro 15 retina mid 2014 PCT. At first I didn’t understand what kind of incomprehensible sound was heard ... as if something was clattering. Then I realized that the sound appears when you press a little on the center of the bottom cover. It's very annoying...there is no such thing on American mid 2012!
I removed the bottom cover and found springy stops on the motherboard - they creak. I have MBP 15" Ealy 2013
0_o horror nah. just tried on to make a purchase and then such a horror movie. =( I'll buy it anyway! I'll just choose =D
I thought I was the only one with this problem. And the buttons creaked. Could this be due to humidity?
MBP 13 mid 2014 - crunch in the center of the bottom cover when you lift the laptop
+1, the bottom cover creaks, I was worried about everything, maybe they took it apart before me, because. bought by hand. Apparently everything is OK :)
PS Pro 15 Mid 2014, there are no squeaks on the air. Apparently, for this size, the rigidity of the bottom plate is no longer enough, and it bends.
