MacBook Pro 13" QC i5 1.4GHz for iOS development?

Good afternoon! I would like to consult with the owners and knowledgeable people.

At the moment I have a MacBook Pro 15 "in the minimum configuration. I'm doing iOS development and I notice that the emulator lags terribly, projects compile for a long time.

Based on this, a number of questions arose:
1. How significant is the difference in performance between the above devices?
2. How significant performance difference between MacBook Pro 13" QC i5 1.4 GHz and MacBook Pro 13" Core i5
2.4 GHz ?

Thank you for your attention and interest in my question! Have a good week everyone.

@Vassag0

Recently I figured out what the difference between processors for 13 "will actually be and that's what I dug up in geekbench
Intel Core i7-8569U @ 2.8 GHz (4 cores) - 1104(single core test) - 4197(multi core test)
Intel Core i7- 8557U @ 1.7 GHz (4 cores) - 1038 - 3914
Intel Core i5-8279U @ 2.4 GHz (4 cores) - 952 - 3909
Intel Core i5-8257U @ 1.4 GHz (4 cores) - 928 -
3827 then the difference is not big, but at the same time: i5 with 1.4 has a TDP value of 15 W, and 2.4 has 28W, i.e. it differs by almost 2 times, which, as I understand it, will have a very negative effect on power consumption in Internet surfing mode ( correct if wrong)
It is also not clear how the benchmark value correlates with the project build speed
I chose i5 1.4 GHz 16 Gb for myself , but it’s with my grandmother in the village, and now I’m sitting on 2013 13 i5 8G and basically I want to upgrade due to lack of RAM

I advise you not to use it at all, except when you can’t test it on it, it lags wildly on my poppy mini, and it’s better to install RAM 16
if there is no device, then I think to scrape up 500-2000r and buy something like 5-5s on Avito not such a problem, it will pay off on the first project, and if you are just studying for now, then such a device for tests will be enough to study

The question was asked a long time ago, but I'll answer anyway.
Macbook Pro 2020 is essentially divided into two types, basic and those that are better))
The basic ones include firmware with 8th generation processors 1.4 and 1.7 GHz, those that have 2 GHz and higher are "improved firmware" with a 10th generation processor
. they have a 30 percent better graphics card, faster RAM, dual-fan cooling, and better speakers. They also have support for 6k screens and 4 ports versus 2 in the basic version.

@mopsicus

Xcode, AppCode and others are very gluttonous, 8 GB will obviously not be enough.
It is not yet clear what generation of processors. Are we talking about new macbooks or not?
