Macbook Pro 13" (2015) for development OK?

I started learning to program in Ruby (well, maybe this is important), and everywhere they say the same thing: you need either a macbook or linux. I came to the store to look at air, but fell in love with macbook 12 "

But the question is: is there enough performance?

I really don’t really understand why you need a powerful macbook pro if you just need to write code, but I decided to ask more experienced colleagues, so as not

Core M 1.1GHz RAM
8GB
256 SSD

Thank you in advance for your help :)

UPD 0: After reading and thinking about your answers, now I'm looking at the Macbook Pro 13 "2015 in the minimum configuration. After all, it is already exactly suitable for all possible tasks of web development, right?

UPD 1: Many thanks to all who responded! Bought Macbook Pro 13" 2015 in min configuration.

For serious development - no. Even the air is weak. Everything rests on the processor. But for learning, it's fine.
Writing code is a small part of what programmers do. You still need to run this code. And the more serious the development, the more resources are required. At first it's just ruby, then various build systems are added, then the environment will have to be isolated (all sorts of dockers), and so gradually the tasks will become more and more complicated.

air'a 13 "(2015) is enough for me.
and in the new one (2016) they put 8 GB of RAM there, all the more it will be enough.
air is cheaper and the screen is bigger :)

I would take a poppy only because of ios development obj. c or sfift to write on it, otherwise I don’t think that it’s better to install Linux or sit on Windows for training (!
