Macbook air 2018 for the web?

I have been doing web development for about a year, you can say junior backend. At the moment I'm slowly working, but here's the thing, I still have my old poppy that was taken in 2011. Yes, I'm the same idiot who in 2020 uses
a 2010 macbook air with 4GB of RAM. I even manage to work on it in Photoshop and, in principle, a year ago I had enough. But now I strongly felt the lack of laptop resources. I really like the Mac, but it's no longer possible to work. At the moment, I have only saved up for air 2018 (2019), which is about $ 1200.
Will it be suitable for web development in the future up to 3-4 years (maybe less)? Or is it better to look for an alternative?

The main thing is not what line of poppy, but what characteristics it will have, well) in general, the stock of any macbook is enough for 5+ years, if you do not miscalculate with the RAM

IMHO, for Apple in Russia $ 1200 (90tr), this is quite the bottom of the price, there will be an exclusively younger model. I have a proshka 13 of 2017, the youngest, 8gb ram, 128gb ssd, then I also took it because of limited funds for about 90 thousand, and honestly enough right at the limit, I write under the frontend, from running: 1-2 code editors , 3 messengers, a browser with tabs, and the project’s dev server launched in the terminal, the macbook often fell into the howl of coolers, it’s uncomfortable to work, and the speed of work is not so breakthrough, the processor is quite economical there, and they say they put ssd in younger models slow, one plus - autonomy. If we take into account that back-end development is supposed, then I dare to assume that to all of the above you can add some docker with a database, or some other environment, which will still add loads, and I'm not sure that the quality of the work will improve much. I would look for some kind of Windows laptop in this segment, you can look for a package without Windows, so as not to overpay, file some Linux distribution, and the software for the backender is most often cross-platform. For this money, this laptop may even have a processor not of the U series, ssd for half a terabyte, and 16GB of RAM, well, or save up another 30-50 thousand for some average firmware, and the younger models are not worth it
