M.2 SSD (m-key) via M.2 > PCI-E x4 adapter to PCI-E x1 slot. Is it possible to?

Good time. Available GA-H110M-S2PV, Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD and M.2 (m-key) to PCI-E x4 adapter. On mat. The board has one x16 and one x1 connector. There was a desire to connect a discrete video card. There are M.2 > PCI-E x1 adapters on sale (aliexpress, something similar was tested here ), but I don’t really want to wait for delivery for a period of a month, or even more. I came across an article We put a second video card in the PCI-E x1 slot , I thought: is it possible to do something similar in my case? All this is planned as a temporary solution, until a full upgrade. I did not look at the pinout of the adapters. Perhaps there are some critical issues in this regard. I would like to know.

You can, there are several options
1) Riser 1x - 16x
2) Saw through the jumper on the slot, making sure that nothing further interferes with the motherboard
3) Saw off the extra contacts to the adapter so that it fits into x1

Perhaps, but the SSD speed ceiling will be limited to 1500 (due to one PCIe channel).

Sawed the jumper on the slot, everything works
