Long question on OS organization with virtualization. Recommend a solution?
Good day!
Interested in solving the following problem:
I want to organize a system based on the Linux kernel with a graphical shell iptables for simple firewall configuration; with a virtual machine that has access to the entire hard disk (read-only) and a separate folder for writing, as well as access to flash drives and usb port devices.
From systems used Ubuntu and Fedora.
Is it possible to:
Organize these requirements in VirtualBox?
Organize this to run on a netbook other than desktop?
Add Windows from virtual machine to domain?
PS I would appreciate links or hints to search for my questions for self-study.

I won't talk about iptables. In vmware workstation, you can add several folders with read and write permissions, there will also be access to usb devices, I won’t say I didn’t use virtualbox, it all depends on your netbook, the hardware requirements in your request are very high and a regular netbook will not cope with the task of virtualization : will lag. The processor must support virtualization You can add Windows in a virtual machine to a real domain, there is no crime in this. A virtual machine is essentially the same PC with an operating system, only a virtual one.
