Login not working on Ubuntu laptop. What to do?

Somehow I updated Ubuntu to a newer one (it was a long time ago, I don’t remember exactly which one) and apparently messed up something, which ultimately led to the update stopping, and so, after this jamb, Ubuntu (Also Windows, by the way) completely refuse to see the headphone / microphone jack.
If you need the output of some commands - write, I'll do it.
lspci command | grep -i audio, outputs only one built-in laptop device.
