Local repository on the network. How is it better?

Good afternoon, I ask for advice on updating Linux. There is a task: there are 400 PCs running Linux Mint in the network. Periodically, the task of installing packages on machines that are not in the official repositories arises. In order not to go to each machine, I would like to have my own local repository with the necessary packages on it. From all the articles, I understood that this can be done in 2 ways:

  • mirroring;
  • local cache;

I wanted to ask what is better to use in my situation? The resources are not particularly limited.

Definitely mirroring. There are too many problems with the cache - you need to somehow clean it, some package can be broken, but the cache has no means to check the integrity, etc.
