Local and network performance SPS Garant

Hello!

There is a well-known reference and legal system GARANT, which the wife constantly has to use at home due to her occupation. The usual client-server version, run locally from a WD10EADS hard drive (yes, 5400 rpm, but otherwise not so slow), under Win7 x64 on an Athlon X2-5200 with 8Gb RAM.

So, according to the wife, working from a local hard drive, the GARANT, when working with queries to the database, works much slower than the same network version at her work (it runs on an ancient working computer from a network file server over a 100 megabit network).

I cannot understand how this is possible. But if this is so, due to some optimization of the GARANT for network work, will running it with a NAS (where RAID 0 + gigabit network) help me?

PS Unfortunately, I can't put another faster disk into the same computer for a number of reasons (case used, etc.).
