Linux is not installed as a second OS?
Hello.
Already before there was Linux as the second OS.
But then, something went wrong and he flew off.
I want to put again. I downloaded a new distribution kit from https://www.deepin.org/ - the same ubuntu, only the design is different.
Set bios to boot from sd drive. An additional disk for Linux was created 20GB. And when I reboot the laptop to complete the installation, nothing happens. Just a welcome window from LENOVO and that's it. After a while Windows loads.
Windows 8.1 lenovo laptop.
How to solve this problem. I also tried to insert a distribution kit from Linux debian, but also without success!

If you have UEFI: disable SecureBoot | Enable compatibility mode (CSM) with bootloaders for BIOS. Perhaps your boring distribution did not include an EFI bootloader.
Here it is advised to disable EFI and use the old CSM method.
But this is bad advice.
When loading, go into BIOS and manually select the item - boot from CD (I have it on the last tab in BIOS).
Put.
After installation, do not forget to register a new OS in the EFI bootloader, otherwise you will have to go through the BIOS every time you boot and indicate where to boot from.
Customize the boot order or simply use the key to call the boot device selection menu (see the user manual for the laptop).
try to put with yusb. had the same problem. with yusb immediately flew
