Linux in car media devices, how is debugging and development done?

Good afternoon, multimedia is installed in the car, I found out that it works on linux, "oss bosch suzuki", so I wanted to know how to debug all this? how to run it in a virtual machine on your computer, modify it for yourself, make your own assemblies and others, share your experience who knows!

First you need to get access to the console - find out what percentage is there, what core at least. Then what packages cost, how the system works. I've been tinkering with IP cameras - formally there is a linux, but the kernel is heavily cut out and everything related to the camera in one binaron executable file - nothing can be changed without the source code. Although there is access to the console in which the maximum is that you can indulge in pings.

I think we need to take the sources, and in fact think about what to do with them, because. it is unlikely that someone bothered thoroughly with their finished drink,
sort of like here oss.bosch-cm.com/suzuki.html
