Juggling with statistics, they forget that now half of the users are smart phones and tablets.
But it’s unlikely that you are ready to type on a smartphone for them.
Modern layout should look adequate anywhere, and sitting on Windows can create the illusion that you have checked something.

Completely calm.
It’s so-so to work with psd ... and it’s better when the layouts are in figma ... what antediluvian still sculpts layouts in Photoshop?

Nothing from the word at all.
Just look at the popularity of
Windows 80%
MacOS 15%
~5% everything else
And if you choose everything else, then you will at least have a difference in fonts, color, and in fact, in many ways.

There is Windows and Ubuntu. I type in Windows, because there is a subscription to fsh and it works well.
Regarding the layout on Linux - the company is in the browser, there is a native client for Avocode. I don’t see any advantages of Linux for layout - it doesn’t matter to me in which console to run galp or webpack.
Here is getting the keys for ssh, git integration - it's more convenient on Linux. But I set everything up on Windows a long time ago and I don’t see the difference.
It is still desirable to test on different systems. For this, I also have a virtual machine with Macos.
In general, if there is money for a Mac, then it is the best solution for a layout designer. Phsh, there is avocode. Safari, chrome, mozilla - it's convenient to test.

Very. The discrepancy is noticeable right to the eye. Though of course you get used to it over time.

You can use Linux, but usually you need additional programs for this: for example, to open Adobe XD, you can use avocode (trial for 14 days, web version, then paid for a small amount of bucks) - as I understand it, this is the only option I have seen so far to open *.xd on linux. Similarly, for Windows 7 - this is the only working option I have seen so far, open * .xd on Windows 7.
Adobe products, contrary to the opinion in the comments (that photoshop works great on wine), do not work on it at all (personal my experience from which I realized that such a complex and tricky product as Photoshop will never run normally on linux). So is Adobe XD - it does not start under wine, or it starts and does not work.
Photoshop works well on Windows. Adobe XD only works on Windows 10 (no lower, be careful - it won't run on Windows 7).
Fonts on Linux can be set so that they will repeat the familiar ones: Arial, Time New Roman, Courier New. Nickname of the developer on github: liberationfonts.
In general, there are not so many problems with fonts in Linux, especially since some of the fonts are loaded from the network (from your site or from some googlefonts), then the rendering will be the same everywhere, both on Linux and on Windows. The problem can only be in the standard fonts indicated above, plus I would add Verdana and Tahoma to this set - their functionality is also covered by the liberation-fonts package, however, like any Linuxoid, you will need to deal with this and properly check everything.
Whether to use Linux is a personal matter. If you like to understand everything, you don’t feel sorry for this personal time, then this is definitely the best choice, it is also more interesting.
Is it effective for business?
Most probably not. On windows there are many programs that are in linux for developers, almost all the power of professional IDEs is available for Windows without any restrictions.
And if you can also run docker on Windows and normally, humanly forward folders inside containers, then the entire server environment will work in native linux under your windows.
