Link background changes if I clicked on it?

There are links that define the category of materials on the site (these links are on all pages of the site) and I need their background to change if I am in this category

Collect all links in the document - document.querySelectorAll('a').
Compare the href attribute of links with document.location.href.
Where there is a match, change the background.
