Lenovo ThinkPad laptop to choose?
Hey Habr!
I'm in the process of choosing a laptop. It is the ThinkPad that is needed (I want at least some kind of indestructibility, the laptop will be just "marching").
However, when I went to the Lenovo website, my eyes ran into all sorts of series - T, X, Edge and others.
My requirements for the laptop:
- Screen from 11.6 to 14. (11.6, of course, I don’t really want it, but in extreme cases you can)
- Indestructibility (I understand that it can’t be one hundred percent, but I want to get at least something. I realized that not all Edges have magnesium inserts)
- hdmi port and the ability to play full hd
- the processor, probably still Intel
And, most importantly, the price - it should not be higher than $ 550-600.
What models are available that suit my requirements? Personal impressions are welcome :).

There are no personal impressions. But did not visit the market to use? There are two laptops for your specifications: Lenovo G460 and Lenovo IdeaPad Z460.
What do you mean by "indestructibility"? Will you throw from a train at a speed of 80 km/h?
I have an edge 13… true on amd.
there are no problems at all. I took it as a marching one, I tax it everywhere.
Magnesium inserts on EDGE series ?? Bullshit… this is the cheapest series… they save on everything, first of all on the screen… I’ve only seen more ugly on a cheap asus…
So there will be no indestructibility for $ 600…
More indestructible are the T and X series, but they are from 26 tr. about…
Does it have to be new? If you need "indestructible and marching", then you can look towards the used T series. You can meet the budget, but it does not fit well with HDMI (HDMI appeared in Thinkpad relatively recently)
Unkillable is the minimum T series, as far as I remember. But then don't stick to your budget. I've been using the T400 for about three years - great machine! For a long time, the enthusiasm for the acquisition did not subside, everyone was amazed at the thoughtfulness of the laptop. IMHO, the models of this series are worth their money.
1. To get your bearings in the lineup: New ThinkPads .
2. According to the budget, up to $600, models fit (I write only matte ones): x120e (on the e-350 it will completely satisfy your needs), e420 (the one on the i3 and without OS).
3. You can wait a bit until we have (already sold in Europe): x125e, e320, e325 (these e-shields are without a drive and a little smaller in size - this is + to the rigidity of the structure).
4. And, of course, you can look at used or previous generation models (edge 11-14).
Does anyone know about the E330? On the Internet I found two modifications with a discrete Nvidia, which is cheaper and with an Intel built-in, which is a little more expensive.
