Learning php with illustrative examples?

Hello, here is the situation.

I can write a website (blog, catalog, etc.) on Laravel
I know such basics as constructions, arrays, etc. (during school time I dabbled in c #, so I quickly mastered such basics)
But .... that's all.
Without Laravel, I can't even master a banal blog in php ...
I know the theory of OOP and had a little practice .... but I still don't understand why it is needed.

We need some kind of resource for learning php (not a video ....) where everything is shown on illustrative examples. Preferably from the very basics and up.
ps: preferably in Russian. but eng is also possible.
