Learning Flash

I'm starting to learn flash. I want to write a small game. What literature and resources would you recommend? So far, I've only read the Adobe manual. And in which direction is it better to move: animation and games or programming and application development?

From the literature, nothing better than Colin Mook on pure ActionScript 3 was written.
Any direction: from 2D to 3D games (see Alternativa engine ). Moreover, three-dimensional games in the light of the current GPU support are just that.
Do not forget about business applications and mobile applications (Android, iOS).
Here, immediately study Flex 4 (at least version 4 of the SDK).
Desktop applications can be written using Adobe Air (and I also recommend writing in the Flex IDE).
Everyone's path is different, but Flash is evolving and the future of the platform is promising.
