Tell me, please, books on Photoshop are not “for dummies”, but for serious study. Russian speakers are more interested, although English is also possible

I didn't like books at the time. MUCH more visual and more convenient for me were video tutorials.
Starting from guides on specific things and ending with a series of video tutorials on all basic techniques and functions (I recommend Lynda.com)

I would advise something like Photoshop Cookbook (I have not seen it in Russian or English) - a collection of step-by-step descriptions of how to achieve this or that effect. How to make the effect of a fabric or a metal surface, create fractals or bend the corners of paper...
The fact is that actually learning Photoshop is not difficult - everything is in its help. It's just a program. But to fill your hand and roughly imagine how to achieve the desired result without playing "andu-redu" is only an experience. Books like Cookbooks just give more insight into how certain effects work and what parameters affect what…
