LDAP filtering to configure phone IP?

Is it possible to "restrict the issuance" of information on request from AD (LDAP)? For example, in AD there is a telephone attribute "telephoneNumber" which contains both city and extension. I only need extensions. Is it possible by certain parameters (number of digits in the extension or maybe a separator between city and extension, etc.) to "display/filter" only the extension number, and not all the information contained in the attribute? Required for configuring IP phones
