How to add a custom class to an OU?

Hello. I'm starting to deal with custom classes and attributes in the AD schema. Prompt, please:
1) What syntax in attribute to use for input of the user from the directory?
2) How to add a freshly created class to OU? Can this be done through the standard "AD - Users and Computers" snap-in, or does it need to be done through PowerShell and so on?
