Laying a route on water automatically skirting the land?

I mean laying a route between two points in the sea, between them, for example, an island, there is a need for the line to go around the land automatically when connecting, by analogy with the route along the street: the line will pass only where it is allowed. It is clear that you can manually outline the island and the route will go as it should, but the idea is in automation.
OSM has a lot of definitions for water spaces / objects. I have a hypothetical assumption that if you describe the possibility of laying a line according to certain parameters and set the necessary prohibitions, then at the output it may be possible to get the construction of a line that envelops the required object? Or fantasy?
