Lato font not being applied in worpdress menu?

I apply both to the body and in the menu directly.
It works on all text but not on the menu. The menu is normal, displayed through vp, there are no extra styles.
What could be the problem?
font-family: 'Lato', sans-serif;
font-weight: 300
