Laptop operation with lid closed

Greetings!

I have an HP pavilion dv6 laptop. Was successfully killed against the wall. Wrinkled case, dead cd-rom and the end of the matrix. Not suitable for repair. It is possible to connect a monitor and usb keyboard for use as a stationary. I googled about the operation of a laptop with a closed lid - the answers vary. There was an answer “a closed lid threatens the matrix” - not my case, right? ;)

Actually subject. Will there be side effects in my case when working with the lid closed? And a noob question in pursuit: how to make the laptop not go into a slip when the lid is closed? Win7 home basic.

Control Panel - Power. There are actions when closing the lid.
The laptop will work. There are special docking stations for business models of laptops - they work on them with closed covers

There shouldn't be any problems. Why should they take it if the display is already dead?
You can make it work with the lid closed in the power settings (in the control panel). Select "When closing the laptop lid No action required"

In order not to go into a slip - in the power options-> change the parameters of the selected plan-> change additional power settings-> power buttons and cover.
Load the laptop to the maximum and try how warm the keyboard is and whether warm air rises from it. If not, then everything will be OK.
Maybe it's easier to remove the cover with the dead matrix? ;-)

Of the really terrible - the possibility of overheating if the laptop is not designed for such work. MB air, for example, is incapable of working like this in principle.
Change the action when closing the lid and drive the laptop with something heavy. If it does not overheat, then rejoice. If so, then unscrew the cover and keyboard.

“A closed lid threatens the matrix” O.O What does this threaten the matrix with, provided that it is turned off. Turned off monitors unless threaten? Feel free to work, it does not threaten anything at all. When the lid is closed, a button is stupidly pressed that tells Windows that the lid is closed, this is the only thing that threatens - Windows / Linux will know that the lid is closed.

There was a similar case with the MacBook Pro: the monitor was killed. For a long time I used it as a desktop, with the lid closed. Although they periodically write that they say this is not worth doing, I have not observed any problems for a year and a half. Then he unscrewed the lid, because. I wanted to use the touchpad and Makov's keyboard.
Of course, all models are different, so it's impossible to say in advance, but I think that there should be no problems with ventilation, because. holes are usually found at the bottom of the laptop. In addition, you can always unscrew the cap.

A closed lid can only kill a laptop whose cooling system draws air from under the keyboard buttons (like the BackBook Air for example) or is blocked from closing the lid in another way (you need to look at how it was done in a particular model).
