Laptop for development to replace the poppy. Optimal for price / speed, which one?
The idea came to change the laptop, and, looking at the price of the latest macbooks, the question arises - is it really needed.
What are some good options for Linux laptops on the market right now that are under a couple of thousand bucks, powerful enough for development (games and video are the last thing you care about) and not weighing five kilograms?

1) If you need MacOS, then there are no alternatives. Neither Windows nor Linux has a similar GUI/shell combination
2) Unlike the cost of other Apple crafts, the cost of Apple laptops is justified. These are not their phones. If you look at laptops from other manufacturers and if you pay attention when comparing the entire set of characteristics , it turns out that all analogues cost about the same. Another thing is that Apple does not have a rich choice if some of the characteristics are not important to you.
Even for 1 thousand bucks there are "powerful enough for development".
After all, everyone has their own criteria.
Maybe you do everything in vim. And you need 4 G for a browser and vim.....
Or maybe you run 10 virtual machines each, and then you need 32 G of RAM... It
remains only to decide which of the characteristics is important to you, which is secondary.
