Laptop as MIDI soft synth for live performances, is there an alternative to a macbook?
Many keyboardists and DJs use MacBooks for live performances. Is it possible to replace an expensive MacBook with something more budget?
The main characteristics that matter: support for low-latency mode (ASIO) by the sound card, the absence of cod and noise on the output, which are usually characteristic of cheap laptops, more or less productive hardware that can pull ableton live and several VSTi without lags and crashes.
