Kindle with ads for $79
Question by the owner of the new Kindle (without a keyboard) and with advertising for sale in the US (ordered a child without waiting for Chubais's plastic chips):
- What do the ad blocks look like?
- Where and at what time do they appear?
- Don't interfere with reading?
- Can I flash / remove them?

In the standby mode on the screen saver and the book selection menu (at the very bottom),
they do not interfere with reading
To be honest, I have not been following this lately. Maybe they already did something. if you do not turn on wifi ads will not be
It's been like this for two weeks now, advertising has not yet been noticed. I suspect that if you do not link it to your account, but simply upload books like a flash drive and read, then it will not appear.
There is an ad in the form of a strip in the main menu (book selection), so that the concept is about the size, 1/9 somewhere from the screen. And also it appears instead of the standard boring screensaver of the Kindle in sleep mode. My Kindle is tied to Amazon, and unbinding to remove ads - I don’t see the point, it doesn’t interfere at all, and as I said above, there is even some profit.
In general, feel free to take and use!
I suspect that the author has either found the answer to the question, or bought another reader. But maybe it will be useful to someone else:
1. Yeah, as answered above, a strip at the bottom of the page in the book selection menu, and advertising instead of standard splash screens. She is usually quite pretty, does not hurt the eyes, does not interfere with reading in any way. I don’t know to whom and how - I personally turned it off.
2. It appears after you connect the reader to Wi-Fi for the first time. They will show the same daily offers until you connect to wifi again and new ads download in the background. Nevertheless, you will have to go through this stage - I still recommend registering the reader and linking it to your amazon account, this gives additional goodies like the ability to change the time and organize the library inside the book.
3. Already unsubscribed
4. Either do not connect to Wi-Fi at all, or - jailbreak. Here everything is described in detail. You can also install third-party firmware, we already wrote about it here.
My way to complete dao: registered reader, updated firmware to 4.1, jailbreaked, removed ads, abandoned my screensavers, ???, PROFIT
