Kernel Panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill Ubuntu 18.04 how to win?

Friends, such a disaster, I reinstall the ARTIX cash register software on the terminal: Posiflex TX-3000e, and after the first boot everything is fine, but after a reboot, the system collapses into an error:

run-init: nuking initramfs contents: Directory not empty

Full error screen:

selinux=0 didn't help...
The error doesn't seem to say anything specific.
The HDD is adequate, I tested victoria for writing and erasing, everything is fine ... as a result, I rolled back to a backup and left the working cash terminal alone for the time being and took a spare one for experiments ...
and now I came to you with a question, what other options for winning this nasty things?
Checkout software: ARTIX is based on Ubuntu 18.04

@DimonNt

Purely by accident I pulled the USB flash drive out of the terminal, and everything worked, it stopped panicking....
