Keeping records of equipment in the server room using barcodes - how is this implemented?
I thought that it would be nice to organize some kind of accounting system for bringing in and taking out from server equipment, since different things are stored here, from mice and keyboards to system units, laptops, etc. There was a desire to automate what I'm doing now, namely, maintaining a database with an inventory of everything, with the possibility of using a USB barcode scanner for balance replenishment operations or vice versa, removal from the server room. In fact, there are two questions - how to implement it in principle, and is it possible to do this without additional financial costs (without taking into account the cost of the scanner, we are talking about an inventory accounting program with support for barcode scanning). Preferably on Windows, but for the sake of this, you can try on Linux, the main thing is to give direction to free software.

I would store it in 1s, you still buy equipment and pass it through 1s. barcodes in 1s are convenient to conduct
