Let's try to guess...
1) You have Windows.
2) You put VB in it
3) Installed Kali in the VB virtual machine
4) Kali should see something, I suspect that the laptop's WiFi adapter ?!
If all of the above is true, then your Kali will only see the virtual adapter from VB. This adapter will not be WiFi at all, but a simple ethernet inside your virtual machine.
To forward a real adapter to a virtual machine, this most likely will not work in VB.
