Joomla 3.8.12 floating module?

Good day to all!
Previously, the site was Joomla 2, it had a floating sidebar with categories and ads. The time has come to switch to the third version, and here I have not yet found a single module that would work correctly with it.
I searched all the JDEs, there are no free ones, for the rest there is really no information on how they work with 3.8.
There is only modulation for $ 29, which, according to the description of the developers, should work with it, but even that is not a fact.
In Javascript, a noob, otherwise I wouldn’t need this modular-plugin nonsense that loads the site.
Maybe someone came across and found a working module / plugin for 3.8? Or will someone share the script and at least a couple of tips on how to tie it to the site?
ps don't kick too much, I already googled the scripts, but I still couldn't bring them to mind

Maybe modulation has a demo, if it works then just buy it.
