Job for the elderly

Hello!

There is an elderly man who sits at home all day and is bored. At the same time, he has basic computer skills (typing, Internet), and also knows how to work a little in CAD systems (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). I think he can master any not very complex software without any problems. By education, he is an engineer.

Please advise what kind of work can be offered to him? Interested in something that he could do without leaving home, while getting paid for it. Not necessarily big; the main goal is to make good use of free time, which becomes very abundant with retirement. I would be grateful for any help!

You can use your free time in different ways. Better of course with benefit. There are a lot of primitive “works” on the net, like rewriting texts, and other things that frankly make the world ... well, in general, do not make it better for sure.
But older age comes with certain advantages. For example, a store of knowledge, a reserve of patience, the ability to overcome obstacles. I would advise him to look towards wikipedia or other open projects that often need the help of volunteers. On Wikipedia, you can improve topics of interest, find information in libraries, and create good articles. You can write documentation for useful open source projects, or create translations of this documentation or the projects themselves. Or you can teach other people how to use a computer. Invite friends and acquaintances to visit who want to learn (probably also the elderly) and explain to them, show them.
I’m silent about the opportunity to learn to program, because I don’t know if it’s real, although I suspect that nothing overly complicated should arise in a person of age if there is a desire.

As for copywriting, there are a lot of scam exchanges, unfortunately, they send nonsense like to see how you arrange it and demand money to show that you are kind of interested in working with them.

Google search for the phrase "work for the elderly"
Results: approximately 5,620,000,000 (0.18 sec.)
At the same time, I upvoted the article, I also have peppy old friends who want to, but do not know what to do.
Moreover, the population of Russia is aging, and many of the pensioners are able-bodied, I think that they are also online.
It’s in the RL that they are not hired because of their age, but here it’s a free territory)
In general, since there are many who want it, and in Google this result, it means that there is a topic for creating thematic services, freelancing for the elderly)

Start and maintain a public on VK with your own blackjack and ... Just today I read that the most popular ones have income from advertising from 500k rubles to a million (it's not bad for posting cats).
PS This is a joke of course)
