JetBrains PhpStorm (WebStorm) License Terms

Please help me with clarification about the license for JetBrains PhpStorm (WebStorm).

The text of the license itself reads:

PhpStorm license is permanent and includes one year of free product upgrades since the purchase date, including even major version upgrades.

Questions:

What does "one year of free product upgrades" mean?
Does it have something to do with buying a license and then a year of IDE support specifically on your hardware/OS?

After the expiration of this year, does the license leave you the right to further upgrade to all major versions according to the license text "… including even major version upgrades."?

Thank you.

PS: I'm confused in the order of the specified license conditions and their ratios.

It translates as follows:
1. The license is permanent. Those. You can use the product forever.
2. The license entitles you to free product updates, including major updates. This means that if a new version of PhpStorm 3.0 with some crazy features comes out within a year, you can upgrade to it for free. But in two years, you won't be able to.

1 year of free updates from the date of purchase, there is no mention of hardware here, you need to look at the license itself.
I understand that the right remains.

It is not tied to hardware and OS - I use it on both a PC and a laptop.
One year of free product upgrades is a subscription to all updates (including major ones). After a year, as I understand it, only major versions + bug fix.
