Power Supply

It is possible to use a conventional ATX standard power supply instead of the SFX power supply, who has experience?

Good afternoon,
There is a system unit: mat. mATX board, HDD, SSD. There was a need to transfer all this into a compact case.
If I buy, for example, this case without a PSU, will it be possible somehow (even with a file) to insert a PSU from the old case there?
Has anyone had such an experience?
Of course, you can buy it right away with a PSU, but judging by the reviews, such PSU cases are not of very good quality, and the power is usually not higher than 300 W, and it would be cheaper at a price.
Or maybe someone knows the option of an inexpensive case, so that HDD, SSD fit in (an optical drive is optional)?

I did something similar - I inserted a Mini-ITX motherboard and a standard PSU into an old small-sized IBM branded case without a power supply unit - with a file, a grinder and a screwdriver. The hole on the back wall did not fit the standard motherboard plug - I cut it with a grinder. The motherboard mount also didn’t fit - I didn’t drill the bottom of the PSU and didn’t get close - I disassembled the PSU, the PSU board fit normally. I fixed an 80x80 fan on the back wall of the case, fixed the power supply unit to the bottom through the insulating gaskets with screws and nuts, soldered the power plug, cut out and fixed the protective cover from the power supply case - so as not to accidentally stick my hand into 220V. Year works without problems. The situation was like greymonstr
- everything was there, there was a case of a decommissioned computer that I liked, it was necessary to assemble the computer quickly, and most importantly, cheaply.
Everything is the same for you, the PSU board should fit, only the PSU is in front and the fan needs to be mounted on the front panel.
This hassle with the assembly took me 3-4 hours.

How do you imagine such a transfer with a file?Mini-ITX-Vergleich_2012_3.jpg

such PSU cases are not of very good quality

most standard power supplies are of the same quality. difference in capacitors and coils and cooling.
At my house, a system unit was assembled in the IN WIN BL634 case; it is quite spacious there with a compact size, although I have a mini-itx motherboard. Regarding the power supply, you are exaggerating, 100W is enough for a normal working system, under loads of 150-250W. Given 70% efficiency, a 300W unit is sufficient. Only in a standard power supply I recommend replacing the fan, it is cheap and therefore noisy and annoying.
