And with Yandex, can you somehow do it so that the search result is in the center of the page, and not on the left edge? And then the monitor is wide - terribly inconvenient.

It is forbidden. But you can expand the browser to half-screen, in Windows 7 there is even a special zone for this. You will be able to work simultaneously with two browsers, read Habr with your left eye, and Yandex with your right eye.

As far as I know, it's not possible to do this in the settings. But I think it can be done with scripts and greasemonkey.

Several times I got to the issue with the location in the middle of the page. I think they are testing this arrangement. So, I think soon they will either put everyone in the center or they will introduce such a setting.

We also faced this.
We came to the conclusion that Yandex did this so that contextual advertising was displayed in the middle :)
